Description: Here's part 1 of Quake II for the N64. Though IMHO inferior to the PSX version in most ways, this version is mostly new content and worth checking out. I'm not sure if I'll run the whole game, as it's not quite as fun as most other versions of Quake II. Let me know if you want to see more. |

GlitterConfetti ::: Favorites 2007-12-28 22:33:18 What I don't understand is why they chose to make Quake II 64 so different from the PC version whereas Quake I was virtually the same on both platforms... __________________________________________________
Bassbait ::: Favorites 2007-12-14 22:54:56 man ive beaten this game SO MANY TIMES its almost sickening, but still do more, __________________________________________________
259 ::: Favorites 2007-12-03 01:22:23 Eww, such jerky animation. __________________________________________________

elbryan42 ::: Favorites 2007-11-22 11:32:59 My hatred for Goldeneye is only surpassed by hatred for Halo, but the single player gameplay is better than Quake II N64. __________________________________________________
elbryan42 ::: Favorites 2007-11-22 11:32:34 Bullshit. Sorry, no offense, but I hated Goldeneye. The engine was total shit (invisible walls, no gravity), the graphics one big blur. However, if I had a choice between Goldeneye and Quake II on the N64, I'd pick Goldeneye. They butchered this game so bad. No hubs, half the animation, half the types of enemies, and it's slow. The graphics, while better than Goldeneye, doesn't save this game. __________________________________________________
dasez111 ::: Favorites 2007-11-22 05:28:08 it wasnt too bad , good enough to complete , but goldeneye was the king aye :) back in 97 was the only time when consoles was better than Pc's . goldeneye is much more better looking than the quake 2 engine __________________________________________________
DJDavidColin ::: Favorites 2007-11-20 12:17:44 this game depressd me on the n64. It was just badly programed deressing and unnatural on the system. just completely shat on buy turok 1 2 perfectdark and goldeneye. __________________________________________________
fearsomepirate ::: Favorites 2007-11-19 13:41:44 It actually appears that Quake II N64 is actually using Quake I's engine with Quake II assets. The Quake II engine had a more advanced animation system. Perhaps Raster didn't have had the budget or time to write a whole different engine, and just modified the engine they had. __________________________________________________
Koopaboy ::: Favorites 2007-11-19 13:33:02 the animation sucks ass __________________________________________________
elbryan42 ::: Favorites 2007-11-18 16:33:33 I 100% agree. I prefer consoles myself, being less headaches in the long run. Id Software games tend to work better than most. Funny, last week I just bought all the Quake games off of Steam as well (thank goodness I have all the music already) so I could play the expansions for Quake 1 and 2, and Q3 Team Arena. Sweet deal for sure. __________________________________________________
KohrsAKT ::: Favorites 2007-11-18 15:45:30 I have both version, i prefer the PC one, about a month ago i bought the "ID Super Pack" from STEAM, i had the QUake 2 N64 version but the PC version is much better in many way.. __________________________________________________
KohrsAKT ::: Favorites 2007-11-18 15:43:19 Buy a mouse the, the touchpat is desesperating in a FPS __________________________________________________
dumbasspauldentonkin ::: Favorites 2007-11-12 13:15:11 I can't help but think, if game desingers didn't spend so much memory on making flamboyant menu screens, they could have used the spare memory to at least make the actual game look better. =) __________________________________________________
elbryan42 ::: Favorites 2007-11-08 13:51:16 Yeah, there's a 25+ min track in Doom 64. I think the developers were more scared by carts than actaully trying to fit stuff in. Look at Resident Evil 2 and Conker's Bad Fur Day. Both have lots of media (voices in Conker, movies in RE2) and they fit perfectly fine on a cart. __________________________________________________ |
