I'm with the fans who say that it really wasn't necessary for her to bring this up. It risks alienating fans and I just always took Jo for someone who appreciated all of her fans, no matter what their moral or religious beliefs, and for her to throw this in their faces is a bit disconcerting.

Thing is, it wasn't really her that brought it up. Someone asked her whether Dumbledore had ever found love and she just answered them honestly. It was either that or lie or ignore the question entirely.

I think it is not a big deal that Dumbledore is gay, I mean, sure, it's big news concerning Dumbledore but it shouldn't be taken as something that is so shocking or so confronting. Times are changing, being gay doesn't have to be such a big deal and I think that J.K. Rowling is doing something that will really benefit the series by saying that Dumbledore is gay.

Dumbledore really knows how to use his wand for multiple purpose LOL apparently he manage to teach harry some dirty tricks. This is not big deal this is a fiction book, you make of the characters whatever you want once you finished reading, this is just a publicity stunt.
