Mancards101 ::: Favorites What I Dont Understand Is If Mark Dosent Want Them tO Use The Name Then Rejoin The Fucking Band! 07-07-27 10:09:13 _____________________________________________________
fattdaddy3755 ::: Favorites On CLOSER TO HOME, "Nothing Is The Same" Mark prophetsized the future almost 40 years ago..."I can flash through future years, and nothing is the same." Wow! What an understatement! 07-07-27 10:31:10 _____________________________________________________
PackedFunk ::: Favorites Your right there fattdaddy3755. Mark also talked about crooked polititions (Sin's A Good Man's Brother), protecting the enviroment (Loneliness), & overpopulation (So We Don't Have To Die), long before it was fashionable. Mark Farner had vision & that is the defination of a prophet. 07-07-27 11:14:40 _____________________________________________________
fattdaddy3755 ::: Favorites Yeah! "Sins A Good Mans Brother" one of my favorite early FUNK jams, says it all in the last sentence..."Say we need a revolution....seems to be the ONLY solution." 07-07-27 12:23:51 _____________________________________________________
PackedFunk ::: Favorites GFRxR were dogged about everything they did, the way they looked, their attitude, even some critics called their instruments "junk". They were told their songs would not be played on the radio if they were longer than 3 minutes. GFRxR were black-balled by "the establishment" through music critics. This is also why they are not in R&R HOF today. 07-07-27 16:24:49 _____________________________________________________
fattdaddy3755 ::: Favorites PackedFunk, I understand that the guitar Marks plays in this clip IS in the HOF. Whats up with that? Thats like putting the light bulb in the history books with no mention of Edison! 07-07-28 11:01:54 _____________________________________________________
PackedFunk ::: Favorites That's true fattdaddy. In Mark's autobiography "From Grand Funk To Grace" he talks about how he loved that guitar. He also states it now resides in The R&R HOF waiting the induction of GFRxR. The R&R HOF asked Mark to play at the ceremonies several years back & asked him for that Messenger Guitar, which he did. He still waits induction. I agree, it's not right. The Messenger is there, Mark should be there too. 07-07-28 11:34:47 _____________________________________________________
jdlewis60 ::: Favorites Yeah really. With all of the bands who were influenced by GF, what is the hold up with R&RHOF??? 07-07-28 22:03:52 _____________________________________________________
fattdaddy3755 ::: Favorites More great lyrics from FARNER in 1969.... "She sits up and she begs and she even rolls over on her back." DAMN! I shoulda learned how to play that guitar better! 07-07-30 12:17:56 _____________________________________________________
fattdaddy3755 ::: Favorites Hey "NEEN"....you out there? We practiced day after day to learn "FUNK" songs in Dons basement back in 1971. All the booze! All the smoke-ages, all the little girlies that thought we were rock stars! Oh! The FUNK of it all!!!! Whooooooooooooo! 07-07-30 20:08:02 _____________________________________________________ |
