lillamolnet ::: Favorites 2008-01-18 09:43:03 True, I would like to add the following: 5. Moving a conductive body through a magnetic field induces electric current. Electric currents stem from differences in potential. Eliminating the potential consumes energy. (The conductive body gets heated.) Heat, being irrational movement of particles, can by overwhelming evidence from fundamental termodynamics never fully be converted to mechanical energy and some portion of it will eventually radiate and disperse forever. Good Luck! __________________________________________________
LigatioPrince ::: Favorites 2008-01-10 16:41:29 I would say no more then 2 - 3 inchs away from the circle on the last magnet.. This will lessen the stickyness of you are seeing and you will get a full circle motion with the inner spinning magnet. __________________________________________________
Drevtoobe ::: Favorites 2008-01-08 17:40:03 4. Even if there was zero friction (which is impossible) and the arm kept spinning, the moment you tried to put a load on the spinning arm, it would slow down and stop, because there is no energy source anywhere, the magnets are not a source of energy in any way, shape, or form. __________________________________________________
Drevtoobe ::: Favorites 2008-01-08 17:36:31 Jeez... This is the third version of this thing that I have seen on YouTube. It will never work for four reasons: 1. Energy is lost from friction in the bearings. 2. Energy is lost from friction with the air. 3. When you pass by a given magnet, the pull it gives when approaching is exactly equal to the drag it creates when leaving. Magnets are like springs, they are energy neutral __________________________________________________
jamesroney ::: Favorites 2008-01-05 16:38:14 You can also place another magnet on the other end to help push the other end through the gate. You "may" need to remove that extra large magnet on the end. Try shielding the last magnet on the leeward side, it will give your armature some help as to suppress the strong (reverse pull) found at the very end of the loop. __________________________________________________
jamesroney ::: Favorites 2008-01-05 16:27:29 All of your magnets need to be on the same plain. If you want the armature to jump the gate, try placing a, 1" x 1" N42 neodymium magnet just right of the center gap and back from the armature a little ways. You're up against what we call, "a gate". When all of your magnets are on the same plain, there is no gate. Simply click on my name for a demo. __________________________________________________
boxa888 ::: Favorites 2007-12-16 18:55:09 maybe make an inner ring of magnets that will influence the other side of the magnet bar on the arm. maybe like to "c" shapes one inside the other... C and the the smaller in side c but put the other way reversed. __________________________________________________
crob227 ::: Favorites 2007-12-14 18:08:52 why dont you try to mount the rotor mangnet and rod to a small dc motor and use it as a generator. put that voltage to a cap, and fire on the dead spot with a coil. __________________________________________________ |
