phgp527 ::: Favorites had mine set up correctly... the difference is AMAZING. Have your axe done by a good luthier. Then practice, by friend, practice... 07-07-05 03:44:43 _____________________________________________________
skeeterjugs ::: Favorites A. Stan is the man. Period B. His fingers have an extra digit (or 2) C. He's been playing since i was in jr high (i'm 50) D. He's one of the best player/composers on earth E. I got to jam with him in Dallas in early 80's F. That was pretty F'in cool!! G. Greatness in action!! 07-07-18 14:19:30 _____________________________________________________
phgp527 ::: Favorites Here here... Got to jam with him, damn. I am jealous! 07-07-18 15:28:37 _____________________________________________________
skeeterjugs ::: Favorites Yeah twas a pretty special night. Granada Theatre on Greenville Ave in Dallas. I was playing in a band at the time and went to see Stanley on a rare night off. Near the end of the show he asked a few local bass players to come up. Oh hell yeah!! I trampled people getting there!! He seemed to like my playing and although I was a jazz/rock bassist, he could tell I'd been listening to him!! It was awesome just shaking his hand:0 07-07-18 17:50:21 _____________________________________________________
phgp527 ::: Favorites You hit it on the head: if it is MUSICAL then it is good. I've played with some major changerunners that can fly on the neck but there isn't a melodic bone in their bodies. Sometimes a minimal approach is required, sometimes it is balls out. The key is to listen and make music. 07-07-18 20:48:25 _____________________________________________________
Syncopat1oN ::: Favorites People like you exist :O. 100% agreed, its athletic, not musical ;) 07-07-22 16:15:38 _____________________________________________________
bornagaindaemon ::: Favorites Never seen such flow going on on an upright, truly amazing. Listen to "light as a feather" (Chick Corea), Clarke smokes on this record...groove monster. 07-07-24 14:19:27 _____________________________________________________
MattTheFunkyOne ::: Favorites Stanley Clarke is my hero and biggest bass inspiration.. I am seeing these guys Sept. 20 in Philly, I cannot WAIT! 07-07-26 12:18:12 _____________________________________________________
BENH91 ::: Favorites How good does it get? Not only did you get to jam with God's own representative on earth but he like your playing as well. I bet there was a real stampede to get up there as well. 07-08-01 10:35:47 _____________________________________________________ |
